About Us

Jeri Fuller-Matheny

Formerly from central Ohio, Jeri grew up riding Quarter Horses in western pleasure, halter, hunt seat equitation, and the lower levels of dressage. She has lived, trained or shown in Colorado, Virginia, Kentucky and Florida.

Jeri began eventing in 1986, and has competed thru the international one star level. In 1994, Jeri was selected to compete in the A.H.S.A. Olympic Field Trial in Georgia for the heat studies to benefit the Atlanta Olympics. She has shown through 3rd level dressage and trained through the FEI level of Prix St. George. She has trained long term with Jean Luc Cornille, Dorothy Trapp-Crowell, Peter Atkins, and Chrissa Hoffman. Jeri has ridden in clinics with Jimmy Wofford, Denny Emerson, Nina Fout, and Peter Grey among others.

In 2011, Jeri earned her "r" as a licensed Eventing Technical Delegate with the United States Equestrian Federation. Prior to starting her family, Jeri worked as a veterinary technician for several Kentucky area equine veterinarians.

Jeri is currently coached in dressage under Grand Prix trainer Chrissa Hoffmann and "S" dressage judge Linda Zang as available per travel and schedules. Jeri trains her FEI event horse under the coaching of Australian 4-Star event rider Peter Atkins who also represented his country at the World Equestrian Games 2010.

Training

Jeri has trained long term with the following accomplished Riders from the Eventing world:

  • Canadian Olympic Equestrian Team member, Jamie Smart, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada
  • Former French Equestrian Team member, Jean-Luc Cornille, of Orange, Virginia, with whom she trained through Prix St. George level in Dressage
  • Several clinics with former U.S. Olympic team member, Denny Emerson
  • U.S. Olympic Team Rider and World Championship Silver Medalist, Dorothy Trapp Crowell, of Lexington, Kentucky, with whom she has trained and competed through the Preliminary and 1-Star levels of Eventing

Accomplishments

  • 1991-1993 Assistant Farm Manager at Sunshine Farm in Shelbyville, Kentucky, a Thoroughbred race horse and breeding operation
  • Summer 1993 — Managed Undulata Farm in Shelbyville, Kentucky, a residential childrens' equestrian camp and riding facility
  • Fall 1993 — accepted Jesus Christ as Personal Lord and Savior
  • Summer 1994 — Selected to compete in the AHSA Olympic Field Trial in Chatsworth, Georgia.  One of the U.S. Riders selected as a precursor to the Olympic Games to be held in Atlanta in 1996
  • 1999 — Competed our Trakehner Stallion, Elijah, to the NATA (North American Trakehner Association) High Point Champion in Eventing and also In-Hand Stallion
  • Also in 1999 — Rode Elijah to the USDF (United States Dressage Federation) Training Level Champion All-Breeds Winner for NATA
  • 2000 — NATA Eventing Reserve Champion
  • 2001-2012 time off to develop our breeding program and care for chronically ill family members
